A character being power leveling is often equipped with inexpensive gear, since the player will be planning on outleveling it quickly. There are some guides that come with add-ons that will walk you completely through each and every quest. Twinking is distinct from power leveling. A twink is usually intended to remain at its current level for an extended period of time, thus providing some justification for the large investment into its gear.

 

Whether you're a solo player or prefer playing in groups, there are many ways for you to level up. Getting in small groups of three or four consisting of a couple of higher level players is a great way to gain tons of experience points. Also note that power leveling is sometimes used to refer to paying someone else to level your character to 80 as fast as possible (i.e. they power level for you); a distinction used by Blizzard is to refer to the paid leveling as "power leveling service."

 

You don't even need a World of Warcraft power leveling guide for this strategy! Simply join a group with a couple of higher level players and run around with them for awhile. Ask them to help you do some quests, or have them run you through an instance that is appropriate for your level.
