Many gamers do not like power leveling because they feel that it misses the point of a role playing game. While this may be true it has some definite advantages. One way that gamers power leveling is by "tanking" A high level character will act as a shield for a low level character. This will allow the character to complete high level quests and receive power leveling experience points for them without the fear of dying. Many seasoned gamers view this as manipulating the game and a form of cheating.

 

In World of Warcraft getting to the levels where you can purchase mounts and awesome gear is a definite plus. The funnel is an inaccurate analogy, but it guides us toward the need to stay out in the field completing quests, and it shows us that we should only return to the middle of the funnel (where the group of quest givers are) once we've completed each and every quest. If you imagine questing using the funnel method, each quest lies somewhere along the edge of the funnel -- and its up to you to make the most efficient journey from one to the other, tipping them into the middle as you go.

 

You obviously have to make a trip to the middle yourself to collect them, but its a quick slide to the center, and you only make one journey back for the same reward! So what is power leveling you may be thinking. The power leveling is the process of sustained, fast leveling in computer role playing games. There are many advantages to doing this. The main advantage is the ability to get to the cool parts of the game quickly. There is also the increase in health points and strength. This is well worth the time it takes to power level.
