The druid is a lot of fun to play and, as it can be more or less, a tank, melee DPSer, healer, ranged DPSer and crowd controller at the same time, I call it The 1-man group class. However, I never waste too much time and money to buy gear from AH. Keeping all the cash from quest rewards, I gather enough for my epic mounts. Also, using the traveling form wisely to escape your foes, is very important. You will complete the objectives quickly, increasing the XP gain per wow powerleveling session.

 

This turns my character into a powerful DPS caster. Having heals and the ability to stealth when questing, makes the druid be one of the fastest levelers in World of Warcraft.
