backSometimes, you shouldn't try wow powerleveling up on your own. Join a group of two or three to make dungeon raiding easier. Using a quest add-on to help your wow powerleveling efforts means you can easily see any quests that should be completed all in the same zone. This can save you bg amounts of time from running back and forth through a particular area looking for the monsters or items you need to finish quests for your wow powerleveling.
If you're a solo player, then just get one of your friends to help you so you won't have to go with an entire group. You also won't be wasting time running backwards and forwards to cities or towns handing in quests when you know there is still more to do in that same area. Have a high level player help you defeat enemies that are a few levels higher than you. Don't go after MOBs that are TOO challenging, however, or you'll end up dying a lot. You can get tons of XP just by having your group doing most of the damage.
Also, just complete the ones that don't require you to fly all over the place. Series of quests can be rather aggravating, and you'll be spending more time flying or transporting than anything else! If you're unsure about how to determine whether or not a quest is worth your time, look over a good wow powerleveling guide and add some ad-ons in order to take shortcuts. Go through your quest log and delete any low level ones. It's not necessary to complete every single quest in World of Warcraft, therefore you need to only stick with the ones that can give you some good XP.
